Elly Bovarnick

Elly Bovarnick is a Judaica artist and rabbinical student specializing in fiber arts, illustration, and ritual innovation. She explores her spirituality using Jewish motifs and vibrant colors to create intricately designed ritual pieces. 

She received her BA in Art and Art History from New College of Florida in Sarasota, FL. She earned a Master’s in Textile and Surface Design from the Instituto Europeo di Diseño in Madrid, Spain. Elly is currently in her second year of rabbinical school at Hebrew College in Newton, MA. She hopes to apply her rabbinic knowledge to her art work to create spiritually significant and aesthetic Jewish art and Jewish ritual pieces. 

In 2024, she started her business, Elly Bovarnick Studios, where she makes and produces Judaica sold around the world. Her latest ritual innovation is called Shechinah Tefillin, which is a new interpretation of the meaning of wearing tefillin. Elly is a dedicated learner, educator, and maker. She is passionate about designing rich and vibrant Jewish ritual objects that connect people back to tradition in new and innovative ways.
